Apple considered switching to DuckDuckGo from Google for Safari

Posted by TechnoDG on 1 year(s) ago .

According to a news articles, Apple had considered replacing Google with DuckDuckGo as the default search engine for the private mode on Apple’s Safari browser. However, they ultimately decided against it, believing that it would be a bad idea.

DuckDuckGo is a search engine that does not track any user’s online activities or store their personal information. It is also known for its privacy features and has gained popularity among users who are concerned about their online privacy.

Why one should use DuckDuckGo Instead of Google?

You share your most intimate secrets with your search engine without even thinking: medical, financial and personal issues, along with all the day to day things that make you well, you. All of that personal information should be private, but on Google’s it’s not. On Google, your searches are tracked, mined, and packaged up into data profile for advertisers to follow you around the Internet through those intrusive and annoying ever-present banner ads, sing Google’s massive ad networks, embedded across millions of sites and apps.

But users enjoy Googles recommendations while searching based on the users interest and track records which certainly makes users life easier. Therefore we feel there are too many positives on Google which make it a synonym of “search”. We will wait to see whether “DuckDuckGo” takes Apple ahead or bring it down.
