Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), Viacom 18 Media Private Limited (Viacom18), and The Walt Disney Company have recently announced a strategic joint venture in India. As part of this venture, Reliance Industries Limited will invest approximately 11,500 crore (approximately US $ 1.4 million) into the joint venture for its growth strategy. The transaction values the joint venture at 70,352 crore (approximately US$ 8.5 billion) on a post-money basis, excluding synergies.

The joint venture will have exclusive rights to distribute Disney films and productions in India, with access to more than 30,000 Disney content assets.
