Google message is all set to introduce a new feature that will allow users to initiate WhatsApp video calls in future directly from the app. This Cross Platform integration aims to simplify communication by enabling seamless video calls without switching between apps to contact the same person. As per the reports, a recent app teardown led the website showcase this reading where this feature was already visible in apps code, but is currently inactive, not available for public use.
Many new devices have cross platform polarity and this new feature is that many smart device users have requesting over time. Users will see a new video call icon in the top-right menu when chatting with someone who also has WhatsApp installed. By tapping on the icon will initiate a WhatsApp video call. The call will default to Google Meet, if the recipient doesn't have WhatsApp installed in their phone.
Currently, this feature is limited to one-on-one conversations, but it may extend to group chats in future. This integration highlights Google's effort to enhance user experience by embracing widely-used services like WhatsApp.
Google and WhatsApp have not yet confirmed this integration or made an official announced of release date for this feature, but it is expected to roll out in future, making Google Messages more versatile & user friendly for Android users.
