The Karnataka Department of Tourism is going to renovate its website, by making it interactive and develop a digital infrastructure platform, to promote tourist destinations across the state.
Karnataka tourism workshop organized sensitize stakeholders on tourism policies and investment opportunities, this information has been reported by The Hindu report.
While expounding on the features of the upcoming digital platform, it will be imparting information on tourist attractions, tour operators, guides, hotels, resorts, and beaches.
The platform is designed to enable tourists to plan their trips, before going to various destinations. The stakeholders share their tourism products or services with the department so they can include in the digital platform.
Karnataka Tourism Policy 2024-29 will recognize 25 themes for tourism and support 44 tourism products. A package of subsidies, concessions, and incentives are also announced to develop the key areas.
A Coastal Tourism Development Board is proposed to be set up to guide investors intending to set up tourism investments on the Karnataka coast. They offer calendar on experiential tourism with events to help tourists plan trips and clarified that festival would not be commercialized to tourists but would provide them with authentic experiences.
