Meta, formerly known as Facebook, has filed a lawsuit against its former Vice President of Infrastructure, Dipinder Singh Khurana, accusing him of stealing highly confidential data. The alleged theft includes proprietary information related to top performers, supply chain partners, and data centers. Khurana is said to have taken this sensitive information to a secretive AI cloud computing startup, where he now holds a similar position to what he had at Meta.
The unauthorized disclosures could harm Meta’s competitive advantage in areas such as AI, data center technology, supply chain operations, and talent retention. The company has accused Khurana of breach of contract, breach of duty of loyalty, breach of fiduciary duty, unjust enrichment, and violation of California’s Computer Data Access and Fraud Act. Meta seeks damages, restitution, and other remedies for the alleged contract breaches and misuse of proprietary information. The case is yet to be proven at court.
