Microsoft has brought out an entirely new voice-enabled AI- assistant only for doctors and healthcare workers and it is called Dragon Copilot. It's a new AI assistant specially customized for the healthcare, which is set to amplify healthcare workflows in clinical documentation.
The features capture conversation, drafts, clinical notes, writes referral letters or summarizes the visit with the patients. Dragon Copilot ensures medical secure architecture, privacy, and sponsored compliance. It's develop by Nuance Corp and acquired by Microsoft in 2021, and also a part of Microsoft Cloud for Healthcare.
Medical professionals will be able to use Dragon Copilot to automatically retrieve information, write notes, summarize and referral letter from medical sources. It will help them edit existing documents. This intelligence solution could record and process spoken information by doctors and patients in multiple languages and then gather those information from medical sources to generate concise medical notes.
Microsoft's announcement describes the AI assistant can also allow visitors or patients to ask further enquires on general medical information, however the company did not mentioned any measures to ensure data security and privacy. It was stated that capabilities of Dragon Copilot are underpinned by a 'secure data estate' and it will provide sufficient compliance safeguards.
The availability of Dragon Copilot will start by month of May in the United States and Canada, later this year, expected to expand it to European countries such as France, Germany and the United Kingdom.
