CloudLinux Server Migration & Upgrade Scheduled for 4th May 2024 at 9:00 PM

Greetings from TechnoDG...

We are pleased to announce that we are migrating one of our servers for upgrading our DirectAdmin CloudLinux Server (technodg.technodg.com) to a latest OS and Software on a fresh server. We have chosen the migration window on the weekend to minimize any impact due to the expected downtime and any other unforeseen circumstances. The new server has been already configured, tested and is being monitored.

The migration details for the server is given below:

• Server Impacted: technodg.technodg.com (103.20.213.62)
• Migration Start Date: Saturday, 4th May 2024 at 9:00 PM IST (3:30 PM GMT)
• ETA for Completion: Migration will be completed in approx 10 - 14 hours
• Estimated Server Downtime: 4 to 6 hours

Why the need for Migration?

Our commitment to quality assurance drives us to regularly upgrade our infrastructure. With the upcoming End of Life (EOL) of CloudLinux 7 OS and DirectAdmin's decision to discontinue support for newer versions, migrating to CloudLinux 8 OS now is essential. This transition will enable us to leverage robust servers, benefit from new DirectAdmin features and ensure optimal security and stability with the latest technologies.

What is being Upgraded:

1. The operating system will be upgraded to CloudLinux 8 OS.
2. The database will be changed from MySQL 5.7 to MySQL 8, to ensure compatibility.

Migration Impact:

1. The FTP, Remote MySQL and File Manager services will be temporarily unavailable during the migration process.
2. Login to DirectAdmin Console shall be temporarily disabled.
3. Kindly do not create new websites during this period, as newly created websites may not be included in the migration.
4. Kindly avoid accessing the web applications or perform database operations during this period.
5. Email services may not be accessible during the migration process.
6. The accounts, settings and databases shall be backed-up and moved from the existing server to the newly configured server. The same shall be restored, configured as earlier and activated online from the new server.
7. Since the existing IP shall be assigned to the new server, its propagation may take some time.
8. Any accounts with outdated/obsolete databases or PHP versions scripts may not be supported on the new upgraded server setup.

What we expect from you:

We would be taking all the precautions and shall follow the necessary procedures to execute the migration of the server accounts and databases to the new one. We would like you to kindly follow our announcements and check your websites/apps or web applications when the same are activated on the new server.

Please note that the current IP 103.20.213.62 shall be retained on the new server, so, any changes in the DNS records shall not be necessary at your end. Still, if you face any issues with your applications please feel free to mail us at info@technodg.com.
