OpenAI [known for ChatGPT] co-founder Sam Altman was fired last week, then almost rehired over the weekend

Nearly 500 OpenAI staff have threatened to quit unless all current board members resign and reappoint ex- CEO Sam Altman, In a letter to the board, 490 OpenAI employees, including CTO Mira Murati and COO Brad Lightcap, said that they would follow OpenAI co-founder Sam Altman, who said he was starting an AI subsidiary at Microsoft following his shock sacking from the company whose ChatGPT chatbot has led the rapid rise of artificial intelligence technology.

The employees understood that without Sam Altman and Greg Brockman it would be very difficult for the company to grow. Altman posted on X early Wednesday morning that he’s returning to the company he co-founded thanks to a new board of directors, and with the support of Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, who hired him on Monday.
