Operator an OpenAI agent that handles web tasks

OpenAI has introduced an artificial intelligence program called "Operator" that can tend to do online tasks like ordering an item or filling out forms. According to OpenAI, Operator is one of its first AI agent capable of doing task for people independently and designed to complete the given task. It can look up web pages an interact with them by clicking, typing or scrolling in the way a human does.

In an Online Post OpenAI added, Operator can be asked to handle a wide variety of repetitive browser task and even create memes. Operator is capable to do multiple tasks simultaneously by creating new conversations.

This capability of Operator marks the next step in AI development, allowing models to use the same tools humans rely on daily, while helping people to save time on everyday tasks and opens the door to a vast range of new applications and opportunities.

Operator has reasoning capabilities to self-correct, when encountered by challenges or makes mistakes, and it simply hands control back to user when stuck or need assistance. It is also trained to ask user to take back over for task that require login, payment details, or solving CAPTCHA, as security challenges intent to distinguish between people and software.

To ensure a safe and iterative rollout, Operator is available only to US users who pay for Pro subscriptions to Open AI service, as a research preview.
