Teachers can receive free AI training from Open AI :

November 20th, Reuters OpenAI and its non-profit partner Common Sense Media launched a free training course for schools on Wednesday to demystify prompt engineering and artificial intelligence. The action is part of OpenAI's expanded efforts to highlight the educational benefits of its ChatGPT chatbot, which was released in November 2022 and has since become one of the world's fastest-growing applications. Generative AI, which has been trained on massive quantities of data, can generate whole new, human-like content, assisting users with term papers, science assignments, and even full-length novels.

When teachers found that ChatGPT could be used for plagiarism and cheating, they were surprised by its mid-year release, which sparked a backlash and school bans.
Leah Belsky, a former Coursera executive, leads a dedicated team at OpenAI, which is funded by Microsoft (MSFT.O), opens new tab, and other investors. In its most recent financing round, the company received a $157 billion valuation. "My goal in this role is to put AI into the hands of every student and every teacher… and also give them the skills to learn how to do it responsibly and effectively," Belsky told Reuters earlier this year. According to Belsky, parents are generally supportive and consider AI capabilities as important for future vocations. He also stated that student adoption of ChatGPT is "very, very high."

The training course is designed for teachers in kindergarten through twelfth grade. It teaches them how to use the ChatGPT chatbot software for a number of educational use cases, such as developing lesson content and optimizing department meetings. It is the first output of OpenAI's collaboration with Common Sense Media, which can be found on their website.
